Day 1- Baltra - Santa Cruz


 

At the Seymour Airport in Baltra Island, the guides of the Galapagos National Park will wait for us to cross the Itabaca Channel where we will take private transport to the city of Puerto Ayora.

Check in at the hotel.

 

Welcome lunch.

 

In the afternoon we will do the tour to Tortuga Bay, famous for being a nesting place for black turtles. It is a tour in which you walk approximately 45 minutes to the beach of Tortuga Bay. We go through Playa Brava, where we can see sea iguanas, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, etc. and we reach Playa Mansa, a place where bathing is allowed and if we are lucky, we will be aroached by sharks taht visit the place to mate (they are not dangerous). The water is cloudy in Playa Mansa because it is an area of mangroves, but it is easy to see them if you stay in the water for a while.

Day 2 - Santa Cruz - Grietas - Highlands


 

 

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

 

Bay tour by boat. We will visit the bay of Puerto Ayora. We will make several stops to practice snorkeling. We will visit Lobería Islet, Playa de los Perros, Punta Estrada, Canal del Amor and we will end with a snorkeling stop in the famous Grietas.

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon, we will visit the upper part of the island. We will go into the Primicias Ranch where we will walk surrounded by giant tortoises in their natural habitat to later enter the Lava Tunnels, caverns formed by volcanic lava during the formatio period of the archipielago.

Day 3 - Santa Cruz - Garrapatero - Darwin Station


 

After breakfast we will take a private transport to Garrapatero Beach. Garrapatero Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. We will be able to observe a permanent colony of flamingos, as well as sea turtles, among many other animals.

 

 

The beach does not have any type of infrastructure so if you want to spend the whole day on the beach we will leave you a radio so that you can communicate with the guide when you want to return.

 

You must bring food and water to spend time there.

 

You will be picked up at the agreed time to transfer you back to Puerto Ayora.

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon we will meet again with our guide to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Famous for the captive breeding of giant tortoises, called Galapagos, which live an average of 150 years. It was created in 1964, has a Natural History Interpretation Center and carries out educational tasks supporting the service of the Galapagos National Park. This Station is also the center of operations for foreign scientists who come to the Islands to take care of special research programs.

Day 4 - Santa Cruz - Baltra


 

 

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

 

Transfer in private vehicle from the hotel in Puerto Ayora to the Itabaca Channel, where we will take the barge that will take us to the Seymour Airport on the island of Baltra.

 

On the way we will make a brief stop to see the Twin Craters.

 

 

End of the trip.
